Food Pantry
Open on Tuesdays 10:00 am – 1:45pm
Discipleship
“And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.” Mark 16:15 At Broad Street Ministry Center,
we love the honor of serving clients their daily bread,
but also sharing with them Jesus, the BREAD OF LIFE.
In 2020 over 60 of our clients gave their heart to Jesus Christ. Over 60 people have their name written in the book of life.
We have found the following ministries to be a blessing
as we desire to come along side of them in their new walk with God.
FOLLOW UP: Once a client has asked Jesus in their heart we begin a month long follow up. Each person who gave their heart to Christ receives phone calls and letters. In this way we are able to follow up with them,
pray with them, encourage them with Bible reading,
and invite them to one of our studies.
MONTHLY ONE-ON-ONE: Each client who walks through our doors for food spends time with an “interviewer”. After going through the food list (making note of allergies etc..) our interviewer devotes time to sharing the Gospel, encouraging them, answering follow up Bible questions,
and praying with them.
Through this monthly one-on-one discpleship time
we have seen lives changed.
MONDAY: L.O.G. (Love Of God) West Acres Baptist Church has partnered with Broad Street Ministry Center to provide a delicious hot meal, a time of worship and Bible teaching to many at the center.
This starts at 12:30pm every Monday.
LADIES BIBLE STUDY: We have a Bible study on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30am. Curriculum is used which takes the group through different books of the Bible.
Through simple questions we teach and model how to have devotion time on you own.
MEN’S BIBLE STUDY: We offer a Bible study for men on Wednesdays from 10:30-11:30am. Please call if interested so leader can plan accordingly.
Clothing Floor
Our clothing floor is open on Tuesdays 10:00 am – 2:00 pm. We do have certain guidelines: Only the client getting clothing can go upstairs (no family members or children unless a family member is needed to assist the client getting clothing)
* if a child is there and the client does not have a friend to watch the child, they may return for clothing another day, or on a Tuesday when we do offer childcare while client is getting clothes.
* Only children in the clients folder can get clothes
after verification from staff
* Children’s clothing (that has been approved)
will be put together later that day.
Clients can pick it up one week from the day they are there
* We will give out 3 items
(3 shirts, 3 pants, 3 socks – ONE jacket, ONE pair of shoes) per client
Holiday Meals
This program is where we provide a frozen turkey/ham with all the fixings so you can have your own holiday meal, along with a gift. Registration for this begins in September and is distributed during the month of November.
To sponsor a family, mail your $35 donation or drop it by 20 Broad Street, Augusta, GA 30901. Please designate it as “Holiday Meals.” If possible, please consider donating by October 1st.
Winter Apparel
During the fall/winter we give out winter coats/jackets, gloves, hats, scarves, and blankets that have been donated.
Adult Literacy
We have students in need of a teacher. Our adult literacy program provides one-on-one tutoring, allowing the student to move at their own pace.
We use the Bible as part of the study text.
If you’re interested in volunteering to teach an adult to read and write,
please call BSMC at (706)722-5999.
If you know an adult who cannot read and write,
please share this information with them.
Job Board
One of the qualifications for food pantry eligibility is having a job. Therefore, a job board in the waiting room is updated regularly to inform clients
of employment opportunities in the immediate area. BSMC also offers resume assistance when needed. If you own a business and would like to have job opportunities shared at the center
or if you own a training school and would like to have the classes you offer shared, please contact us.
If you would like help with a resume, please contact us for an appointment time.
Summer Ministry
Vacation Bible School (VBS): During this summer we are hoping some local churches will host a VBS at the center. Please continue to check our website for further updates or call the center.
If a church is willing to host a VBS please contact us.
Back to school bash: This event is where we usually have fun activities and food for children and give out backpacks with school supplies. Also, thanks to our partnerships with local schools, we will be providing school supplies to any children they find in need. (See “School Partnership” below) To assist this ministry, we will still accept donations of school supplies at any time during the year.
Community Partners
We have the privilege of providing food,
clothing, and hygiene supplies to other community organizations that serve families in need. These include i-Care 4, Augusta Rescue Mission, Garden City Rescue, Augusta Care Pregnancy and local churches.
School Partnership
In addition to our summer children ministries and winter apparel for youth,
we have partnered with principals and social workers from middle and high schools. Together we are meeting the needs of some of our children in extreme poverty and in homeless situations in our community.
* Prom dresses for Junior & senior girls
* Weekend food
* clothing and hygiene items as the social worker requests
* ongoing school supplies

here are some future projects you might want to consider funding and or volunteering for.
