Summer week #1 at BSMC

Kaye Morris on July 8, 2015

Our first week of Vacation Bible School (June 30 - July 2) hosted an average of 90 children per day, ages K-5 through 12 years old. Brenda Duke and West Town Community Church volunteers did an amazing job as our leaders. The children enjoyed daily skits depicting Pharoah's refusal to LET MY PEOPLE GO! Last week's youngsters can tell you what happened when the leader refused Moses' requests to release the Jewish slaves. The kids got to act out the story as they witnessed the water turning into blood, saw boils pop up on the arms and legs of the...

Back To School Block Party

Kaye Morris on August 10, 2014

As volunteers were hauling out tables and chairs on Saturday morning, August 2nd, the rain suddenly rushed up on us and flooded the area. But we did not despair. God always provides a 'Plan R' to rescue/ recover us when nature hurls a surprise onto our well planned schedules. The Back To School Block Party at BSMC was moved indoors in response to heavy rain sneaking up on us. And what a celebration it was! Reverend Jerry Thangiah, his son youth pastor Navin Jeremiadoss of Martinez Baptist, and Hope International Church had 2 choirs entertain the guests in the sanctuary. Meanwhile Carolyn & Norman Schwartz, Diane & Ken...

Pantry Needs

Kaye Morris on January 12, 2014

Working in the food pantry at BSMC gives each of us the feeling of family...... God's children serving others in accordance with His will; the Father and His children meeting needs by sharing the love of Jesus with our friends in this neighborhood; Christians demonstrating a loving compassion for others. What a blessing to be called to serve! Abraham's Place has taken some very hard hits over the past year. Crippling hits! God called several faithful servants to join Him in Paradise. Lea Reynolds, the longest term client interviewer, was first to go home after yet another battle with cancer. Not long after her passing, God called literacy...

Don't you? Many low income people cannot afford all the additional expense of preparing a real Thanksgiving feast like we enjoy. We need 100 more groups to donate $25 each. Our goal is to provide 150 Thanksgiving meal boxes and turkeys for those in need. Will you partner with us in making this family oriented celebration memorable for a needy family this year? The new rules will require alot more groceries, so please remember to share with BSMC. For ideas of what we need, please visit Abraham's Place on this website. We also desire your prayers, as nothing good can come from this place without our risen Saviour leading the way. Please pray for the clients, our volunteers, as well as the staff.
